Used Auto Parts San Antonio

Q.My 1991 Mercry Cougar has forever been missing a nut & bolt on the driver's rear side that ties the shock absorber to the wheel assembly. This gives me only three active shock absorbers. The car bounces a bit more than it should, but never enough to cause trouble. Anyway, when I first learned about this during a tire change several years ago, I tried to get a new nut & bolt, or at least some dimensions from a Ford/Mercry dealer. The dealer looked it up for me and found and exploded picture of the assembly, with the nut & bolt, showing item numbers for all of the pieces, except the bolt & nut. He had no way to identify, much less order one for me. I'm hoping that after being on the market for about 8 years, some examples of this car have ended up in used part yards. When I lived in San Antonio, I knew of several big pick'n'pull type yards to go look at. I'd like a recommendation on some places to look here in the Houston area. Of course, if anyone can more directly help me find this nut & bolt, that would be even better.

A.A little bit unsafe for you and other cars I would say. Check the yellow pages under used auto parts. There are literally hundreds of junk yards. Also, any muffler shop, NTW, Firestore, etc..., will have the nut and bolt. To that list add Hi-Lo, Auto-Zone, Western Auto, etc.
